So far this year, September was the quickest month for me. I had several inspiring and lovely content creation projects. I tried to dedicate more time to yoga, making art, and self-care, but especially the end of the month got a bit hectic for me. Restrictions in Finland have finally started to lift and I’m looking forward to returning to the gym! Here are some of my standout favorites from the month of September!
Myys ‘Mökki’ Scented Candle*: I love scented candles, but I’m quite picky about the quality: I want a good scent throw for a reasonable price and a beautiful design. Myys candles are all that! They’re based in Inkoo and are inspired by life indoors, aiming to make home a lovely nest. I’m all about that at-home life! Mökki translates as a summer cottage and the scent is peaceful, smokey, which really transforms me into the scenery of our cottage. Love! Notes: Thyme, ginger, nutmeg, leather, smoke, musk and smoky vetiver. Their boutique ships worldwide.
Kevin Murphy Hair Resort Spray*: This is a hair styling mist my friend and hair stylist Sumi Moreno has used on me several times, so I had to give it a go on my own. I’d love to have silky smooth hair, but mine is quite coarse and textured, so this texturizing spray emphasizes its natural look. I spritz this on towel-dry hair and then blowdry. There is a faint coconutty scent, but it’s not overpowering if you dislike coconut as I do. Available at hair salons.
Kjaer Weis Invisible Touch Liquid Foundation: At first I wasn’t a huge fan of this foundation as the long and skinny pipette isn’t very functional, plus the shade range is odd when it comes to light shades… F120 (“extremely light with neutral undertones”) is too dark and very yellow on me, but I can make it work with a white foundation mixer. It gives a fresh, healthy glow to the skin and wears very nicely during the day. The coverage is light to medium. Available at Jolie.
Und Gretel ILGE Translucent Compact Powder*: The tin compact is cute, the translucent powder inside is weightless and silky, plus it is eco makeup! I’ve used this to set my concealer and find it wears beautifully under the eyes. The powder has a slight pore blurring effect. I’d say it’s best for dry to combination skin: while it mattifies a little bit, I doubt it’s enough if your skin gets very oily during the day. Available on Biodelly.
Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask Ex (set): Laneige’s cult classic lip balm/lip mask is fairly pricy in Finland, so I ordered a travel exclusive(?) set of minis from Yesstyle. They come in and out of stock, so keep your eyes open if you want to try a set of minis. There were 4 in total, but I gifted the berry flavor to my friend. I like this lip balm texture a lot: it’s slippery and light yet intensively moisturizing. So far Mint Choco is my favorite scent/flavor! I hope the full size will launch in Finland. Regular lip sleeping mask (Berry) is available here.
SUVA Beauty We Make Rainbows Jealous (set)*: SUVA Beauty totally stole my heart with their colorful, water-activated eyeliner “cakes”. We Make Rainbows Jealous has 6 smaller pans of colors that glow in UV/black light. They’re so much fun for everyday as well as more creative makeup projects! Available on Nobe Beauty.
