Make Your Car Engine Clean With These Simple Steps

Before you learn how to clean a car engine, you have to prepare the things that you will need. Being prepared can make your cleaning convenient and hassle-free. Check out the things you'll need for this project :

  • Engine and Machine cleaner
  • Stiff brush
  • Piece of cloth or dying towel
  • Pressure washer or water hose
  • Vinyl Care spray

Step 1 – Safety First 

In everything that we do, safety should always come first. So we need to protect everything electrical. Cover  the wires, plugs, and other electrical parts of the car to prevent them from getting soaked.

Step 2 – Spray Your Engine  

Spray your engine cleaner thoroughly but make sure protect the electrical parts.  You can cover it by using a plastic food bag or a round wrap. Ensure that every corner is sprayed.

Step 3 – Brush Off The Dirt 

Along with your cleaner, you'll be needing a stiff brush to remove stubborn dirt. Then leave it to dry for a few minutes to soften the dirt and grease. Let the cleaner soak before rinsing it. Sometimes, you may need the best oil extractor  as well if you really want to have an overhaul cleaning of your vehicle. It is mostly done when the vehicle's oil needs to be replaced by a new one.

Step 4 – Rinse Your Engine 

With the use of your pressurize cleaner, rinse your engine. Control the pressure of the water so that it can't be forced into the electronic components. Rinse all the residual cleaner and the dirt.

Step 5 – Dry It Up 

Once you rinsed the engine completely, dry it with a towel or a chamois cloth. For those parts that you can't reach, let it to dry naturally. When it's fully dried, spray with vinyl care then wipe away the excess. This will leave your engine gleaming like brand new. Don't forget to remove the cover of your electrical components when you're done.
