How to Create Easy Affordable Valentines Day Wreath Right Now

Here is the good news: Even if you don’t consider yourself a “crafter,” even if you aren’t good at making wreaths (like me) you can still make this Valentines Day wreath. It’s THAT easy!

Valentines Day Wreath Supply List

Here are the supplies you will need:

Heart Frame

Glue gun & glue sticks

Ribbon (for hanging and for covering the back if you want to use ribbon)

Cloth, felt or ribbon for the back of your Valentines Day wreath

- Foam or silk roses – you can decide sizes & colors if you want them all the same or not

Mat or towel to protect your surfaces

4 Easy Steps to Make Your Valentine’s Day Wreath

Add Ribbon First

Add ribbon to back of your Valentines Day wreath

Step 1. I didn’t do this, but I think it would be helpful to glue your felt, cloth or ribbon onto the wreath form FIRST rather than last to help catch glue drips.

I had a problem that my hot glue dripped onto my towel underneath my project and stuck my Valentines Day wreath to my towel.
You could avoid this by holding your wreath form in your hand while you glued your flowers on.
Or you could glue your ribbon or cloth backing on first. This could help create a barrier between your wreath on your towel or mat.
Use a small amount of glue on your wreath form and affix your chosen backing onto your wreath form to cover the entire metal shape.

Note: If you choose to start with this step, you should also add your hanging ribbon at this time. (See step 4)

Attach Roses to Your Valentines Day Wreath

Valentines Day wreath is so easy to make with hot glue and foam roses

Step 2. Turn your wreath over and begin attaching your small roses to your wreath one by one.

Step one is to attach roses to wreath form

Add a small amount of hot glue to each flower.
For the small foam roses like the ones I used, two (2) will fit side by side next to each other to fill the width of the wreath.
I used 7 6-packs of small foam roses and 1 6-pack of large foam roses to fill my Valentines Day wreath, with one small rose left over.
Initially the plan was to make it using all one size with the smaller roses. But my store didn’t have enough of the small roses, so I bought the larger roses to fill the rest of the space.
In the end, I think I like the added interest and texture that the different sized flowers give the wreath.

Notes: You may choose to add more large flowers or layer more flowers. You could also add some white flowers to add interest. Be creative and experiment with what you think looks pretty and make your wreath special.

Create Your Pattern

Step 3. If you bought the same ratio of small flowers to large flowers as I did, then you will want to add 6 small flowers and then attach a large flower.

Repeat this pattern all the way around your wreath, 6 small, 1 large.
And you should arrive back at the beginning just about right.

Add Ribbon to Valentines Day Wreath

Last step is Cut ribbon to hang your wreath

Step 4. Turn your wreath over and add your hanging ribbon.

Simply use hot glue to attach one side of the ribbon to the back of the top of the Valentines Day wreath.
Then fold it in half and glue it together like a sandwich so it sticks together in a loop.
