Grimy Screen? This Is The Super Simple Cleaner You Need

The other day, I caught a glimpse of my computer screen and couldn’t believe how dirty it was! I could barely make out the image underneath all the smudges and fingerprints. I knew that I could buy a product to clean my screen with, but I was also pretty sure I could make my own that would be much cheaper, and I was right! It worked so well and was so easy to put together, I just had to share it with you.

Directions:

This spray couldn’t be easier to make—just fill a small spray bottle with equal parts white vinegar and distilled water, then replace the top and shake well to mix. (Vinegar works great here, but if you can’t stand the smell or don’t have any on hand, you can substitute rubbing alcohol instead.)

Also, it’s important that you use distilled water and not tap water. Tap water contains minerals that will leave a residue and/or water spots on screens.

How To Use Your Screen Cleaner

microfiber cloth is one of my all-time favorite cleaning tools, and can do quite a bit of cleaning on its own! Start by wiping the screen with a clean, dry microfiber cloth to remove surface dirt, lint, and oily residue.

Next, apply the spray lightly to your microfiber cloth (not a paper towel) and then gently wipe your phone, laptop, or TV screen with it. (Applying the spray to the cloth is a much safer option when dealing with sensitive electronics because the spray won’t drip down or get into any cracks or crevices.)

I’m still amazed by how well this screen cleaner works—the vinegar cuts through smears and smudges with ease, and you don’t have to use very much pressure either. Give it a try for yourself and you’ll see what I mean!
