Bali Beach Clubs || Our Raw Review

Looking for the best Bali beach clubs? We have you covered! Today, we're giving an honest review of 5 of Bali most notable beach clubs acorss the island. Including La Brisa Beach Club located in Canggu.

Looking to visit a one of the many Bali beach clubs?  Today, we are sharing all the details on our experience at 7 of Bali’s best beach clubs.  We’ll be sharing details on cost, access, location with all of our raw feedback.  The good, the bad and the ugly.

We originally shared this post after our trip in 2019 where we were able to 5 of Bali’s best beach clubs.  We had the opportunity to return this February and were able to add 3 new beach clubs to the list.  Plus, we revisited almost all on the list below to ensure we could share any updates on service, cost, etc.

If you visit any of the below, or any new beach clubs in Bali, feel free to share your thoughts with us!  We’d love to hear!

The first Bali beach club on our list is La Brisa Beach Club.

//

LA BRISA BEACH CLUB – Canggu

La Brisa Beach Club was my second favorite beach clubs in Bali. Nestled on the foreshore of Echo Beach, one of the most well known beaches in Bali, La Brisa is home to an absolutely breathtaking décor, sustainably sourced food and genuine Balinese hospitality.

Built using reclaimed wood from more than 500 old fisherman boats, and expertly hand decorated, La Brisa today is one of the trendiest, yet sustainable eco-friendly venues in the island that radiates true Balinese character and serves up some of the lip smackingly delicious food and cocktails.

Menu here is devoted to all the seafood lovers with the sole purpose of serving up local and sustainable produce at an affordable price. Delivered daily, all fish sold at la Brisa is line caught by Balinese fisherman and almost all of the ingredients used in the kitchen are sourced from the island itself.

Innovative drinks list just screams “true island life” with an exotic fruits , home made herb infused spirits as well as unheard of cocktail combinations.  Its all truly one of a kind, exclusive to La Brisa and designed to please even the finest of the palettes.

And finally – the ambience.  The venue in itself is nothing short of an art and simply cannot be described with mere words. One must experience it first hand in order to fully comprehend and appreciate the majesty and the authenticity of the place. For one thing, the attention to detail here is second to none and every tiny aspect tells a unique story.

At La Brisa you have full access to the beach and two main pools.  Shawn and I selected a day bed on the beach (pictured below) for more access to the sun.  You can also reserve a Hut, table or bean bags on the beach as well.  The main area of La Brisa, where a small pool and main restaurant and bars are located, was fairly shared.  There is, however, also a larger pool and deck area which is completely open to the sun.

You can book your reservations either online or by phone.  Shawn and I did neither.  We simply scootered to La Brisa, accessed via the beach and secured our reservation on the spot.

The cost for the day bed with beach access was 750,000 IDR (or roughly $75 USD).  This cost is to reserve the space, but that balance is also what is used for your food and drink.  For the ammenities, food and drinks, La Brisa was one of the better values of all the beach clubs we had the opportunity to visit.

Note: It was a tab hard to find the front entrance of the beach club at first.  We parked on the main street and had to access the club from the beach.

It’s also worth noting, we were able to bring a drone and shoot footage unlike many of the other beach clubs across the island.

FINNS BEACH CLUB

If you’re looking for more of a ‘club’ or ‘spring break’ vibe from a Bali beach club, choose Finn’s Beach Club.  Also located in Canggu, Finns was located about 15 minutes from our stay at The Chillhouse.

Located on the beachfront in front of the famous Berawa surf break, but only 10 minutes from Seminyak, Finn’s has a ton to offer guests.

Boasting with live music and lots of people, visitors to Finns can laze away the day in the sun from the comfort of single and double day beds on a white sand beach or swim in a stunning 30 metre infinity edge pool with swim up pool bar (and underwater speakers).

The striking bamboo structure was specifically designed to allow every guest a guaranteed sunset view. And boy, are the subsets incredible!  The photo below is completely unedited.  It was like fire in the skiy.

Enjoy the unbeatable 180 degree ocean views whilst listening to the cool tunes from Resident DJ’s daily from 9am and the exclusive female vocalists from 4pm.

As the sun goes down experience a magical Bali sunset and then the action in the ocean as the night surfers carve up the Berawa break under lights.

Finns Beach Club provides an experience like no other in Bali. All who visit this piece of paradise are in awe of its beauty, they leave relaxed, sun kissed and dreaming of when they will return.

Surprisingly, there were a lot of families visiting Finns Beach Club as well.  And, if the a day bed on the beach isn’t your thing, Finns does offer a vast restaurant and sushi bar experience.

I did think Finns was one of the more expensive beach clubs we visited, but it was worth the money, in my opinion.  The food and cocktails were delicious and the service was impeccable.  Our double day bed was located right in front of the swim-up pool with each access and a view of the beach.

Similar to La Brisa, Shawn and I did not make our reservations in advance; instead we walked up.  The reservation costs have increased from 2019 to 2020.  I would check online regularly for seasonal specials, etc.  Also, it’s worth noting, the costs for earlier in the day have a tendency to by less expensive than in the evening.

We got a lot of questions on Instagram while we were there about whether it was overly crowed or loud.  It was definitely both, but not over powering.  The DJ played some great music and there was still plenty of room in the pool to enjoy yourself.

We were there at the end of February, which is technically considered Bali’s rainy season.  I would imagine it’s much more crowed during the peak season.

What did make Finns Beach Club very unique is they do offer night surfing.  They light up the beach and ocean with spotlights (almost looks like daylight) which was pretty cool if surfing is your thing.

Note: Finns Beach Club does have an extensive security check before entering.  There is security that will need to search your bag for prohibited equipment such as long lens cameras and drones.  Finns would be a really cool place for drone footage, but you’ll need to access it from down the beach 🙂

Looking for the best Bali beach clubs? We have you covered! Today, we're giving an honest review of 5 of Bali most notable beach clubs across the island. Including Sundays Beach Club in Uluwatu Bali.

SUNDAY’S BEACH CLUB

Sunday’s Beach Club is one of my absolute favorite Bali beach clubs.  The views, the food, the beach, the relaxed atmosphere.  All of it.  I feel in love with Sunday’s for sure.  It also reminded Shawn and I a lot of Hotel Mousai – one of our all-time favorite locations.

Sundays Beach Club is one of Bali’s most spectacular beach front location. Indulge in fabulously fresh, all-day dining. Explore the crystal clear lagoon and scattered rock pools with complimentary water sports. Relax by the bonfires to the cool tunes, as the sun sets cliff side.

Whether you enjoy Sunday’s extensive amenities on the beach or want to hang by the infinity pool, Sunday’s Beach Club is a destination to see in Uluwatu.  Sundays is all about relaxing, soaking up the vibe and having fun in the crystal clear water along the reef.

Because of it’s popularity, I do recommend booking Sunday’s in advance.  The day we visited all of the day beds and beach chairs were full so we spent the day handing by the infinity pool instead.  Don’t get me wrong, the pool is divine and was the perfect location for Shawn and I for the day.

Reservations on the beach do include:

  • Full beach club and inclinator access, towel and wifi
  • Kayaks, snorkeling equipment and stand-up paddle boards*
  • For IDR 200K food and beverage credit (Adult Day Pass only)
  • IDR 100k food and beverage credit (Child Weekday Day Pass only)
  • IDR 150 food and beverage credit (Child Weekend Day Pass only)

Note: Access to the beach is also subject to the tides.  The day we happened to visit the tides were high so they closed the beach until 3:00PM, as well.  You can check the tide schedule on their

The food and service made Sunday’s really spectacular.  I highly recommend the Tuna Poke and the Three Cheese Croquettes – both were so delicious.

When Shawn and I return to Bali, Sunday’s Beach Club will absolutely be on our list of places to visit.  Or, even stay!  Their beach side villas look amazing!

Looking for the best Bali beach clubs? We have you covered! Today, we're giving an honest review of 5 of Bali most notable beach clubs across the island. Including Omnia Beach Club in Uluwatu Bali.

OMNIA BEACH CLUB

Next on our stop of the best Bali beach clubs is Omnia Beach Club.  Omnia is likely one of the more notable Bali beach clubs.  It’s clean, spacious, has great music a great pool and fun party vibes.

The Omnia was one of the few ‘chains’ we found in Bali.  It’s owned and operated by the same private investment company that also runs Omnia resorts and beach clubs in Las Vegas, Los Cabos and San Francisco.

While this Bali beach club is very instagramable, and a good handful of peoples favorites, I wasn’t all that in love.  It was much more crowed than the other beach clubs we had visited.

Most who know me also know I am almost always down for a good party, but this felt too much like spring break for me.  There were a few occasions where I waited much longer than I wanted to to get my hands on a cocktail.  And, while the food was good, it wasn’t great.  Nothing notable, in my opinion.  It’s definitely possible I may have enjoyed the experience if we had the opportunity to snag a day bed.

Similar to Sunday’s Beach Club, if you are planning on coming here, make sure to call and reserve your own daybed (especially if you are a party of 3 and more) in advance. Daybeds do come with a minimum spend, so do check with them when you call to reserve your beds. The minimum spend for 2 pax is around Rp 1,200,000.

Also, with Omnia’s more club like feel, there is also a more strict dress code they enforce.  The dress code is what they consider ‘smart casual

  • • Proper swim attire to be worn in the pools at all time
    • They do not permit: beer branded singlets; cut off clothing; or athletic sportswear
    • They kindly ask you to ensure you wear a top when in the dining areas

Note:  Omnia also requires a security check upon entrance.  You are not permitted to bring a drone inside.  If you are carrying one, you can leave it with the security check until you are ready to leave.

Looking for the best Bali beach clubs? We have you covered! Today, we're giving an honest review of 5 of Bali most notable beach clubs across the island. Including Folk Beach Club in Ubud

//

FOLK BEACH CLUB & GARDENS

The last stop on our Bali beach clubs tour is a quaint spot located in the heart of Ubud, Folk Beach Club & Gardens.

Folk, Ubud’s first swim-up bar with a seasonal twilight cinema situated right in the heart of town.  It’s a tongue-in-cheek neighborhood setting with private daybeds, teepees and decks line the pool with food range from vegetarian to grill and drinks from craft options to classics.

Folk is open daily from 9 am to 10 pm. So, it’s just you and your best bud? Or are you a group of island hoppers?  Don’t miss sweet little spot in Ubud.

Their food menus range from the authentic Indonesian taste to house signature dishes, from international cuisines to vegetarian or vegan options, from the popular single-portion bowls to scrumptious meals portioned for group of friends, so dig in because our tables are open at breakfast throughout dinner.

I highly recommend trying their Balinese Mezze Paltter, the Breakfast Toastie and Chicken Satay.  Everything we tried was so delicious and shareable.

Also, easily order from your cozy space or swim over to the bar for our extensive option of beverages from craft drinks to healthy smoothies or go for the refreshing mocktails and sip away through the sunset with the cocktail classics.

What you’re ready to depart this sweet pool oasis you’re just steps away from great shopping, the Ubud Market and a small scooter ride from the Monkey Forest.

Ulu Cliffhouse

The Ulu Cliffhouse just celebrated its three year anniversary and is a really great beach club option if you’re in the Uluwatu area.

Harnessing the energy and boldness from the rolling waves and vast expanse of ocean below, Ulu Cliffhouse embraces the raw natural beauty of the Bukit Peninsula with its stunning Uluwatu location and a design that combines intimate spaces and tantalising experiences in a cliff top playground

With direct access to the beach, Ulu Cliffhouse showcases a 25-meter infinity pool, world-class food and drinks served from an open-air restaurant and cliff side ocean deck hanging provocatively over the waves. Not a restaurant, a hotel, a bar and more than just the traditional beach club. Ulu Cliffhouse is your ultimate day out in Bali. We are set to redefine the beach club experience.

The cost was fairly reasonable compared to other beach clubs such as Finns or Omnia.  You can book a day bed for roughly 1,500,000 IDR or roughly $120 USD.  This will create a tab which your food and beverage purchases will be credited towards.

We enjoyed Ulu Cliffhouse so much we visited twice during our trip this year (2020).  The menu was relatively extensive with a combination of western and authentic Balinesian dishes.  Every dish and cocktail we had was delicious.

A quick note to all of my Instagram friends, or those that wish to take photos at Ulu Cliffhouse with a professional camera (or any device other than a cell phone), it is prohibited.  The space itself is a fantastic place to snap some shots so it was a bit disappointing to learn you had to get permission – 24 hours in advance – and schedule a photo shoot to be able to take photos.

Palmilla Beach Club

A New Beach Club located at Melasti Beach Ungasan, open for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner is a great place to enjoy your day when you visit Bukit Peninsula / South Kuta. Beach front Beach Club with beautiful cliff panorama and white sandy beach.  It’s a stunning location for a relaxing day by he beach or pool.

Palmilla was one of the more family friendly Bali beach clubs we have had the chance visit.  And, their menu is family friendly as well.

You will absolutely love the view from this beach club, as well.  It’s so stunning, y’all.

The cost for entrance was roughly 1,000,000 IDR or $80 USD.  Similar to all other beach clubs, the drinks and food will chip at your tab, as well.  What’s even better, with the admission, you can stay for a really fabulous Bali sunset until 8:45PM.  Most of the other beach clubs require you to leave before sunset or around 5:45PM.

Palmilla is definitely worth the visit!  I highly recommend!

Which Bali beach clubs are your favorite?  I’d love to hear your recommendations below!
