Move over classic blue, your year is over. Pantone recently announced that the color of 2021 is actually two colors—PANTONE 17-5104 Ultimate Gray + PANTONE 13-0647 Illuminating. Why? As they said in their press release, the reason behind this pick is "two independent colors that come together to create an aspirational color pairing, conjoining deeper feelings of thoughtfulness with the optimistic promise of a sunshine-filled day."
I personally love them together. And since you, our reader, were so excited about all the recommendations I had in last year's color, I'm here once again with even more recommendations for everyone in your family.
These are the must-have Pantone Color of the Year items:
A compact stroller for when you're ready to explore the world again
I'm a Colugo convert after testing their Complete stroller with my toddler. This is their compact version which is ideal for travel or throwing in the back of the trunk during roadtrips. The color is just fabulous and it's a partnership with Colugo and Primary.
A cozy stroller muff
Keep your little one cozy and protected in one of these multi-seasonal footmuff from 7AM Enfant.
A super trendy face mask
Repeat after me: we are still in the middle of a pandemic and mask wearing reduces the spread of COVID-19. Now that we've gotten that out of the way, why not look super trendy while mask wearing? This one marries Pantone and also the trend we've all been enjoying during lock down, tie dye.
An awesome facial cleanser
This small but mighty facial cleanser will reach deep into your pores with sonic pulses to remove any impurities you may have while also promoting collagen production to speed up healing. The massaging basin on the backside is perfect for facial toning and massaging in your favorite serums and moisturizers after your daily washes. It's made for busy moms since one charge will last up to 11 months, because, you know, we forget to charge everything.
A fabulous dress for when we can go outside again
There's light at the end of the tunnel, and hopefully soon we'll all be able to rock this Betsey Johnson dress everywhere we go. The cut is both flattering and playful and the color is just fabulous.
Montessori placemats and utensils
Lovevery is a brand I absolutely love and I'm so excited about this new release of placemat and utensils for toddlers. My son is obsessed with setting the table and the visual guide this placemat provides makes it a task I can trust him with.
Animal friends framed prints
These realistic illustrations inspired by Montessori teaching will brighten up any room. Get the ducky for yellow and the elephant for gray and you're good to go.
A wireless bra for extra comfort
The KNIX WingWoman contour bra will give you the most shape and definition + comfort from all the bras the brand has to offer. Extra side coverage means there won't be any unintentional side boob.
Leak proof undies
These undies absorb up to 3 tsp of liquid, perfect to use as a backup on heavier period days, or as your only thing in lighter days.
Gray doesn't need to be dull and boring. Here's a perfect example in these cool shiny Saucony sneakers that you can wear all day long. Dress them up or dress them down, but be certain that your feet will never be more comfortable.
A house twin bed
I wish my adult bed would look like a house tbh. And this color is great for kids' rooms because it allows you to be more playful with the rest of the decoration if you want to.
A kid-proof hoodie
This hoodie from Pact is made of 100% organic cotton fleece, double layered for extra warmth and extremely soft. Plus, it makes it easier to spot your kid at a distance if you ask me.
A big gray giraffe
Giraffes are usually not gray, but can you say no to this one? Super soft and machine washable, it's the perfect gift for any baby shower.
Super plush towels
Hug your body with this super-plush bath towel set from Brooklinen. It's the perfect addition to take your bathroom and turn it into the ultimate spa experience (while we can't go to one of those IRL yet).
A big triangle throw blanket
Perfect for cozying up under it and ready for any TV binging you might be doing on your couch, this blanket is both bright and fun, without being overly in your face.
A T-shirt that will take you to where you really want to be
Bora Bora sounds like a dream right now, doesn't it?
Adorable knitted pants for an even more adorable baby
Made of 100% baby alpaca and with the undeniable style and quality of a beloved by all brand, Oeuf, these pants can be rolled up and worn all year round.
Where The Wild Things Are T-shirt
For fans of the book (and also sales, because it's 50% off right now) this tee is just everything for the little Max in your life.
Waterproof shoes made to last
I cannot talk more about how awesome Native Shoes are. My kid wears them year round to splash in puddles or play in the sand box. They are indestructible while also being super cool.
A hoodie turned plushie pal
Cubcoats are the most adorable hoodies with a secret—they zip up into themselves to transform into a snuggly friend! They're the ideal layer for a road trip since they can double as a pillow. (Remember road trips? Bring it on, 2021!)
A statement ring
The shiny sterling silver bezel setting holds a large hand cut and hand set Lemon Quartz baguette. I don't know about you, but during quarantine all my (very limited collection of) jewelry came back on rotation because why not get all blinged out to sit on the couch and watch The Bachelorette?
We independently select and share the products we love—and may receive a commission if you choose to buy. You've got this.
